New Program Promotes Iconic Austin Businesses

A city is only as strong as the businesses that power its economy.

Where would Austin be without the businesses and commercial interests that pump life into community we know and love?

Through the years, Austin has been blessed with a vibrant network of businesses that has fueled Austin’s growth and helped shape the city it is today.

Now, AHCA is looking to shine a light on those iconic Austin restaurants, retailers, nightclubs, professional services, and other companies and establishments that have helped define our city’s history. By becoming an AHCA Iconic Austin Business member, a commercial enterprise can add its name to those who are working with AHCA to preserve the history of Austin and Travis County.

"Austin’s iconic businesses are integral to the character of the city," said Mark McCormick, AHCA Board Member and driving force behind the new Iconic Austin Business Membership program. “They are an essential part of the city’s history. This new program gives them the chance to step forward and help preserve that history while being recognized for their contributions to the community.”
